Duct Cleaning in Tri-Cities

“Why Do My Air Ducts Need Cleaning In The Tri-Cities?”

Because they get dirtier than you might think! Especially if you’re not the original homeowner or if it’s been more than 7 years.  A clean HVAC system will maximize the lifespan of your equipment and help improve your home’s air quality. Beyond the usual piles of dust and dirt, it’s not uncommon to find scraps of food, pet hair, and even rodent feces in the ductwork.

“How often do my HVAC ducts need to be cleaned?”

If you own or rent a home with a ducted HVAC system here in the Tri-Cities, we recommend no longer than 7 years between each ductwork cleaning. However, this depends on a few important factors:

Previous Owners
Pets
Water Damage
Allergies/Asthma
Renovations
Cigarette Smoke

“My home is brand new- do I need a duct cleaning?”

Sheetrock, insulation, carpet, tile- these all come after your HVAC system has been installed in your new home. For weeks and weeks other sub-contractors continue to work inside the house.

Several messes are made and (hopefully) cleaned by each contractor throughout the build, but it’s not uncommon to find debris in your ductwork once the house is “finished”. Cleaning your new ductwork will help bring that fresh-start feeling you wanted when you moved in.

Other Common Duct Cleaning Questions

  • For $500 we clean up to 12 supply registers and 2 return registers. Each additional register is $25. Add a dryer vent cleaning to your visit for $80. Stand alone dryer vent cleanings are $200. A trip fee may apply for visits outside the Tri-Cities area.

  • Yes, we clean dryer vents. $80 if our crew is on site to clean your ductwork or $200 for a stand alone visit.

  • We locate our powerful, HEPA filtered vacuum near your furnace and use up to 5,000 CFM of suction as needed. 5,000 is well over the needed CFM to suck out debris. We rarely run it at 100% capacity.

We use “agitators” with a powerful air compressor to break off and release stubborn debris. Everything makes its way into a sealed container and is removed from the site.

  • It should take 2-4 hours, depending on the size of your ductwork system.

Prevention

The best way to avoid dirty air ducts is to prevent it with frequent filter changes and regular maintenance on your HVAC system. If you’re sensitive to polluted air, we recommend upgrading your filter box so it’ll take 4″ filters instead of the 1″ filters.
